500-gram fountains also know as X-tra Large Fountains™ are a type of ground-based fireworks that contain a maximum of up to 500 grams of pyrotechnic composition. Here are ten tips for shooting 500 gram fountains:
- Make sure to read and follow all instructions and warnings on the fireworks label.
- Choose a clear, flat, and open area away from buildings, vehicles, and flammable materials.
- Secure the fountain to a stable base or stake to prevent it from falling over during use.
- Use a torch lighter or extended lighter to ignite the fountain, and light it at arm's length.

The age limit to shoot fountains in New Hampshire is 21 years old. This means that only individuals who are at least 21 years of age are legally allowed to purchase and shoot 500-gram fountains, as well as other types of fireworks in the state of New Hampshire.
