The answer is both yes and no. While a larger size canister shell can hold more powder and potentially create bigger and better effects, the legal limit of explosive material for consumer fireworks is 60 grams per shell, which applies to all sizes of canister shells, from 4" to 7". In some cases, a 60 gram 4" shell, like the Diablo by Black Cat, can outperform larger size 60 gram canister shells due to the quality of the inner shell. It's important not to be fooled by gimmicky fireworks marketing and to choose canister shells based on the quality and effects of the inner shell rather than just the size.
